Video Diary Workshop 3 & Residency – 420PEOPLE in Merida
Soaring Like Icarus: 420PEOPLE Dances into Mérida’s History!
As part of the Dancing Histor(y)ies Project, the amazing contemporary dance group 420PEOPLE brought their artistry to the historic city of Mérida, and it was nothing short of spectacular!
Despite Václav Kuneš’s absence, the team, with the help of local facilitator Juan Carlos Tirado, worked seamlessly with local dancers to perfect their choreography. The culmination? A breathtaking performance of Icarus at the iconic Temple of Diana—an unforgettable 60 minutes of pure magic blending heritage and movement.
But the magic didn’t stop there! 420PEOPLE also joined the Mérida OFF Festival, sharing insights at a press conference and seminar about transforming heritage sites into extraordinary stages for art.
Through this collaboration, the Dancing Histor(y)ies Project continues to unite communities and history, proving once again: dance knows no boundaries.
Watch the highlights and join us in celebrating this incredible journey!
