Video Diary Workshop 2 – 420PEOPLE in Volos
Exploring Movement and Collaboration: 420PEOPLE in Volos | Dancing Histor(y)ies Project
Join 420PEOPLE on their second workshop and residency adventure in Volos, Greece, as part of the Dancing Histor(y)ies Project!
This journey brought new connections, creative explorations, and fresh inspiration from the city’s rich cultural tapestry. At the Museum of the City of Volos, the group delved into the city’s industrial, cultural, and social history—fueling ideas for their upcoming festival performance. In the studio, young and advanced dancers explored natural movement, improvisation, and partnering techniques. From playful basics to advanced tasks, these workshops unlocked new tools for dancing with partners and within groups. For adults, the sessions emphasized improvisation and partnering, introducing the joy of movement to a group of 40+ participants.
The residency also featured visits to the Music Conservatory, where traditional Greek music and instruments inspired future collaborations. A meeting with a local visual artist added even more layers to the artistic exchange. This creative residency strengthened connections within Volos’ artistic community and sparked countless ideas for the company’s performance, which will reflect the heart and soul of this unique city.
