Video Diary Workshop 1 – 420PEOPLE in Volos
Discovering Identity: 420PEOPLE in Volos | Dancing Histor(y)ies Project
Step into the creative journey of 420PEOPLE as they explore identity through dance in the vibrant city of Volos, Greece. Workshop 3 and the residency, part of the Dancing Histor(y)ies Project, brought together dancers, students, and the local community for a rich exchange of ideas, movement, and inspiration.
From the ancient artifacts of the Athanasakio Archaeological Museum to the breathtaking landscapes of Mount Pelion, the group immersed themselves in the cultural and natural heritage of Volos. These experiences shaped the evolving choreography—a poetic reflection of identity, inspired by the forces of nature and human connection.
Workshops with local dancers and students introduced contemporary techniques, sparked discussions on teaching methods, and bridged the gap between tradition and modernity. A visit to the Municipal Music Conservatory added another layer, exploring the interplay of dance and music improvisation.
Stay tuned to witness how these encounters with history, nature, and people shape the choreography for the upcoming festival in Volos—an abstract exploration of inner self-reflection and the search for identity.
