he essence of DanTe – danze di terra is rooted in a journey through art, dance, and places, an immersion in time and space, a dialogue between environments and emotions, inspired by Dante’s wanderings in the Divine Comedy.
This national site-specific project of promotion and advancement is conceived and realized in harmony with the hosting location, with the aim of enhancing the site through dance, offering an immersive, unique, and unrepeatable experience.
In the heart of Castel Sant’Angelo, guardian of centuries-old memories, DanTe – danze di terra / Dancing Histor(y)ies 2025 intends to address a crucial challenge: the problems that afflict youth communities. Their world, transformed into a theater of social emergency, marked by news events that too often see young people as negative protagonists.
The project is aimed at those living on the margins of society, in urban and suburban peripheries, where social distress disorients and alienates from a possible future, where it is difficult to express one’s individuality and gender freedom. In an era of economic, environmental, and social fragility, in which the aspirations of young people falter under the weight of precariousness, DanTe – danze di terra wants to offer them an opportunity for social redemption and a voice of hope.
Dance, the universal language of body and soul, becomes an instrument of individual redemption, a means to transform distress into creative energy and to reclaim one’s dreams. Castel Sant’Angelo, with its millenary history, transforms into a stage for new narratives, where young dancers, like modern Dantes, embark on a journey of human and professional transformation towards a future full of possibilities.
