Polish Dance Theater in Castell Sant´Angelo
From 11th to 13th of April 2025, the Polish Dance Theatre returned to Rome for their second co-creation workshop within the Dancing Histor(y)ies project.
The residency was organized by IBorghi, in collaboration with MSPD Studios, Pd Artmedia, CRDL, and Mvula Sungani Physical Dance.
The program opened with a meeting with the production team at MSPD Studios to discuss working approaches and consolidate logistics. This was followed by a community workshop with youth from disadvantaged localities, giving participants the opportunity to engage directly in creative movement and storytelling.
On the second day, the company once again met with the production partners to refine artistic strategies, before leading another workshop with a second group of young participants. This was complemented by an artistic festival meeting, offering a chance for local voices to share perspectives and connect with the project’s themes.
The final day centered on another community workshop session, further deepening the exchange between artists and local youth groups.
Through these encounters, the Polish Dance Theatre continued to weave community engagement, accessibility, and collaborative creativity into their process, ensuring the upcoming performance will be firmly grounded in local stories and shared experiences.
