In the distant and the proximate time there are stories and histories which gain or lose meaning, depending on the contexts in which they are reiterated. Incorporating poems by Giuseppe Ungaretti and Alda Merini, Only When Few Days Remain explores senses and sensations of time and how it can be pulled, morphed and transformed through relations and relationships.

ISRAEL ALONI

Israel Aloni is an independent choreographer, pedagog, performer, writer and culture entrepreneur.

Aloni has been developing their movement research practice – The I.Aloni Experience, which also forms the foundation of their teaching practice. There are two continuous engines in this practice: the immensely charged field between the performer and the witness-spectator; and the agency of the dance-performer in the process of making-performing. Aloni resonates with the account of Gilles Deleuze which suggests that an idea informs the medium. When an idea appears, it already informs in what medium it wants to be explored and expressed. Therefore, Aloni continues to experiment with different formats and contexts for both making and presenting their work, this includes: Boys Just Want To Have Fun is a durational piece (6-8 hours in gallery/museum spaces); Within the  European Cooperation project Dancing History(y)ies Aloni developed site specific works for archeological and heritage sites across Europe; In 2025 Aloni is making PASSING (commissioned by Toplocentrala in Sofia, Bulgaria) which is a black box performance where the witnesses-spectators are sat in the round.

Aloni investigates concepts across disciplines, namely philosophy and psychology, often reflecting on themes of ontology, gender and nonconformity. Alongside their choreographic work, they publish texts in different formats including MILON QUIS – words for dance (published by CIRCADIAN, 2025) PUSH: It Will Come Later (published by CIRCADIAN, co-editor & co-author, 2021) On Art and Activism (article published by Howlround, 2020) and What Do You Mean When You Say Gender? (article published by IETM, 2016). More here: https://www.ildance.se/aboutus
