Bread of the Earth is a title that allows you to combine elements of history and tradition into one coherent message. Dance, which is the main carrier of emotions, will become a bridge between everyday life and art, where earth, bread and woman are inextricably linked. As part of the “Dancing Histori(y)ies” project, the performance aims to combine the historical threads of Sardinia with the figure of Grazia Deledda, one of the most outstanding Sardinian writers. The show aims to create a coherent narrative in which Barumini’s past and Grazia Deledda’s work will be transformed into dance energy. The bread of the Earth is a metaphor for community, sharing what is most valuable. In the performance, the community of Barumini become a space in which bread – which is also a symbol of sacrifice – unites people in dialogue.

The land that begets bread, becomes a symbol of spiritual strength, the strength that allows us to survive difficult times. The connection between the past and the present, also indicates a time continuum symbolizing that unbroken bond between tradition and modernity, where the earth still provides inspiration and cultural roots.
