The ancient City of Nora (Municipality of Pula)

The ancient city of Nora, located on the southern coast of Sardinia near Pula, stands as one of the island’s most evocative archaeological sites. Once a vibrant Phoenician, Punic, and later Roman settlement, Nora offers a striking dialogue between history, landscape, and the sea. Located within the Nora Lagoon protected area, the area presents an outstanding mix of vegetation and marine fauna, and active enviromental activism, but also of very vibrant local culture, traditions and customs.
Within the Dancing Histor(y)ies project, this site becomes a living stage where contemporary dance reconnects with the echoes of ancient cultures. Artists and communities come together among mosaics, temples, and theatres to explore new forms of storytelling, bringing movement, memory, and heritage into harmony under the Mediterranean light.

Su Nuraxi (Municipality of Barumini)

Rising from the heart of Sardinia, Su Nuraxi is one of the island’s most extraordinary archaeological treasures and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built during the Bronze Age, this monumental nuraghe complex embodies the ingenuity and communal spirit of ancient Sardinian civilization. Within the Dancing Histor(y)ies project, Su Nuraxi becomes a meeting point between past and present — where the solid stones of prehistory resonate with the fluid language of contemporary dance. Through movement and collective creation, artists and audiences rediscover this timeless architecture as a space of connection, resilience, and cultural memory.
