The activities of DanTe – Dances of the Earth Festival will happen on several incredible locations throughout Rome!

Castel Sant’Angelo

Castel Sant’Angelo is one of the most important monuments in the world.

Built on the orders of Emperor Hadrian between 123 A.D. and 135 A.D. by the architect Demetrius, it is famous for being the tomb of Emperor Hadrian and his family and also of other emperors up to Caracalla; the Castle is also known to have been, throughout history, a fortress, court, residence and prison of the Papal State.

Now owned by the Italian State, the Castle is currently managed by the State Museums Directorate in Rome and attracts millions of tourists from all over the world every year.

For this reason, any decision on what happens inside the site must be authorized by the Superintendency of the Ministry.

The festival DanTe – Dances of the Earth will be structured as a walking tour inside the castle. The public will walk along the itinerary within the walls and will be able to access the spaces and admire the performances. That’s why the venue locations were chosen very carefully Sala di Apollo (Hall of Apollo), Sala della Biblioteca (Library Room), Sala Paolina (Pauline Hall), Dromos (Atrium Hall) and the Hall of Urns, Halls of Clemente VIII, Bastione San Matteo, Cortile Dell’ Angelo

MSPD Studios

The MSPD studios, among the largest and most important in Rome and home to the Rome Opera House School among others, cover an area of 2000 square metres with four large and bright rooms for dance and artistic activities, circus techniques and oriental disciplines. There is also an impressive area for physiotherapy, strengthening and stretching. The facility is also equipped with a modern graphics and audiovisual editing studio, for the creation of multimedia sets, promos, music, social and much more.

Auditorium Della Conciliazione

Located in the vicinity of the Castel Sant’Angelo, beautiful Auditorium Della Conciliazione will be used for Off festival activity and as a support venue.
