Dancing Histor(y)ies Supports Cáceres

There are moments when culture truly feels alive—when it moves, breathes, and connects people across borders. Today in Cáceres was one of those moments.
The Mérida Classical Theatre Festival, together with the European project Dancing Histor(y)ies, proudly expressed full support for the city of Cáceres in its candidacy to become the European Capital of Culture. In a symbolic and inspiring gesture, the Mayor of Cáceres also signed the Dancing Histor(y)ies Letter of Intent, reaffirming the city’s commitment to collaborative, inclusive, and community-rooted cultural practices.
This is more than a formality.

It is a shared belief that culture grows through people—through their stories, their heritage, and their creativity. It is a recognition that the paths we walk together are stronger, richer, and more meaningful.

As the Cáceres team beautifully said:
“There are days when you feel that culture breathes with you. Today is one of those.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for believing.
Thank you for walking with Cáceres, always.”
Dancing Histor(y)ies is honoured to stand with Cáceres on this journey and to continue building bridges between communities, ancient sites, and contemporary artistic expression across Europe.
