From 8th to 10th of April 2025, the 420PEOPLE dance company visited Rome for their first co-creation workshop within the Dancing Histor(y)ies project. The residency was organized by I Borghi, in collaboration with MSPD Studios, Crdl, Pd Artmedia, Mvula Sungani Physical Dance, and Derida.

The program opened with a workshop at MSPD Studios, engaging youth from disadvantaged localities in direct artistic interaction. The afternoon concluded with an artistic festival meeting alongside the I Borghi team and Derida, initiating the setup of the co-production process.

On the second day, the company met with the production team to exchange working approaches and align on methodologies. This was followed by another community workshop with local youth groups. In the afternoon, 420PEOPLE joined a site visit and space inspection at Castel Sant’Angelo, together with I Borghi, Derida, and the castle team, strengthening the link between historical context and creative inspiration.

The residency closed on April 10th with a final meeting at MSPD Studios to refine activities and finalize production strategies. Another workshop with youth groups reinforced the project’s focus on accessibility and community involvement.

Through these activities, 420PEOPLE established valuable ties with both local partners and communities, laying the foundation for performances that intertwine artistic collaboration, shared heritage, and inclusive cultural exchange.
