From 15th to 17th of May 2025, the Czech contemporary dance company 420PEOPLE began their co-creation workshop in Rome within the Dancing Histor(y)ies project.

The residency was organized by IBorghi, in collaboration with MSPD Studios, the Italian Chamber of Deputies, and local youth communities from disadvantaged localities.

The program opened on May 15th with a community workshop at MSPD Studios, where young participants engaged in contemporary dance and creative exploration alongside the artists.

On May 16th, the company took part in a press conference at the Chamber of Deputies, presenting the DanTe – Danze di Terra / Dancing Histor(y)ies project to national institutions, partners, and the public. The day continued with workshops and rehearsals at MSPD Studios, working closely with two selected youth dancers who became actively involved in the co-creation process.

The third day, May 17th, was dedicated to intensive rehearsals with the youth dancers, followed by the opening performances of the DanTe – Dancing Histor(y)ies festival at Castel Sant’Angelo, where 420People shared the stage with local productions and Italian guest companies.

These opening days laid the foundation for a deep artistic collaboration between international professionals and local youth, blending contemporary dance with heritage spaces and community participation.
