🏛️✨ Dancing Histor(y)ies at European Heritage Days in Poznań
On 13 September 2025, Dancing Histor(y)ies was presented in Poznań, Poland, as part of the European Heritage Days, through a series of activities organized by the Polish Dance Theater in collaboration with the Genius Loci Archaeological Reserve.
The programme offered a unique opportunity to experience the project’s methodology in practice. A co-creation workshop titled “Movement, Thought, Memory” invited participants to actively engage in the creative process, contributing to the development of the performance “What spirit lives here?” and exploring how dance can activate and reinterpret archaeological sites.
In the evening, the activities continued at the Polish Dance Theater with a performance followed by an open discussion on memory, heritage, and artistic interpretation. Artists and archaeologists reflected together on the role of memory in both disciplines, addressing questions of how the past is preserved, reimagined, and transformed through contemporary artistic practice.
These activities highlighted the core values of Dancing Histor(y)ies, bringing together local communities, cultural heritage, and performing arts in a shared space of dialogue, creativity, and reflection.
🌀 Exploring memory, creating together, and bringing heritage to life.
